Where audiophile performance and system protection and control are required, the AV8 offers the answer.
Providing true high performance mains conditioning and power distribution solution for a complete system with sequential power up and power down, the AV8 will also shut of the entire system if the line voltage is deemed to be outside of a safe operating window.
Providing 8 individually conditioned channels, of which 6 channels are optimised for source components, each have their own dedicated filter. This prevents noise generated from each component within the system degrading the performance of another. This key feature allowed our original Minisub and Substation to take the market by storm by punching far above their weight. The AV2 refines the principle further, the powerful filter topology gives excellent electrical performance, individually isolating each output.
The remaining two high current outlets are optimised for loads such as power amplifiers. A very low series resistance multistage topology means that high peak currents are passed effortlessly whilst being effectively filtered. All outputs are surge and spike protected.
The beautifully crafted chassis with a CNC engineered 10mm alloy front panel, features a 32A Neutrik PowerCon input connector. All outlets are isolated from the chassis on acrylic panels to facilitate true star earthing. This attention to detail, together with parts of the highest quality, help reap further rewards in sound quality.
The AV8 builds a solid foundation for any high performance system, giving room to breath and live. The gains in system performance are not to be underestimated.
The outputs are powered on or off sequentially when the unit is triggered. The delay is adjustable in four groups with dip switches on the rear panel. The Sequence can be triggered on or off in any or all of three ways. Firstly, a front panel rocker switch. Secondly a remote switch contact or thirdly by opto isolated voltage source. The last two options are connected by a 4 pin XLR connector on the rear panel. All of the triggers may be used uniquely or together.
Whilst the AV8 has 8 power outputs connectors, there are a further 4 channels of "slave outputs". These are available on a 5 pin XLR connector on the rear panel. These can either trigger an AV2 via it's control input, or drive any of our other controllable products like the Sequence, AV8, Grid or slave units.
The AV8 has a blue digital "true RMS" voltmeter on the front panel. This accurately displays the AC line input voltage. However, should the line voltage drop below, or rise above, a voltage deemed to be dangerous to the equipment powered from the AV8, the outputs will be rapidly powered down. The display will then signal either a "lo" or 'hi" message.
